Year 1 and 2 Mass

On October 20th, Father Tim celebrated Mass with Year 1 and 2. It was lovely to see families attend and after Mass we were able to show them our new Chapel.

Year 6 Retreat Day Mass at Holy Rood Church

As part of their retreat day, Year 6 Padua and Lisbon attended Midday Mass at Holy Rood Church with the parishioners. Father Tim began Mass by reminding the children they were always welcome in their Church.

Blessing of the Chapel

On September 20th, Bishop Paul returned to St. Anthony’s to celebrate Mass and bless our newly located chapel. It was a very special occasion which was attended by our Year 5 and 6 children, representatives from our other year groups as well as members of staff and governors both past and present. We were also delighted to welcome both past and current parents. Anton Cataldo, was also there to see Bishop Paul bless his specially designed crucifix which now hangs behind the altar.  This was Fr. Tim’s first mass with St. Anthony’s. We consider ourselves very fortunate to be able to work with Fr. Tim and of course Fr. Alex who we continue to remember in our prayers.

Leavers’ Mass

In July 2023, Father Alex joined Year 6 to celebrate the end of their journey at St Anthony’s. Father Alex spoke to the children about the importance of keeping faith in their hearts as they embark on the next chapter of their education. He reminded them that St Anthony’s will always be with them wherever they go. Father Alex’s words were especially poignant as this was his last Mass at St Anthony’s.

Year 3 Mass for St Peter and St Paul

On 29th June 2023, Year 3 celebrated a mass for the feast day of St Peter and St Paul. The children helped to read different parts of the mass and Father Alex spoke to the children about Communion during his homily.

Year 2 Mass at Holy Rood

In June, Year 2 visited Holy Rood Church for a morning of reflection. Father Alex spoke to the children about the history of the church and after lunch they joined the parishioners for Midday Mass.

Year 6 Mass in the Isle of Wight

Whilst on their residential trip, Father Alex led the Year 6 children and staff in a mass in the grounds of our Hotel. The children read for different parts of the mass and they took time to reflect on their time at St Anthony’s. What a lovely way to celebrate mass, surrounded by God’s beautiful creations.

EYFS

In May, Father Alex led Nursery, Reception and their parents in a class mass. They were lucky enough to hold it outside by their Prayer garden. Some of the Reception children did a brilliant job reading our the Penitential Rites and the Bidding Prayers, whilst Nursery carried up the Offertory.
