St Francis of Assisi is very important to our school. He knew St. Anthony and in fact, St. Anthony was a Franciscan.
He was a Catholic Friar who gave up a life of wealth to live a life of poverty.
We wanted to recognise the connection between these great saints by naming the home of Years 4, 5 and 6, The Francis Building which was officially opened in 2014 by Bishop John Sherrington.
On October 4th 2023, Year 2 had a special devoted to Saint Francis. The children dressed up as animals to represent his love of nature. They carried out some research which has been displayed in the Year 2 area and you can see below.
