As part of our R.E curriculum, the children explore a range of different faiths. These include; Islam, Judaism, Sikhism and Budhism. During these weeks the children learn all about the different beliefs and traditions of these religions.
We also take part in visits to local places of worship.
Hinduism- Bhaktivedanta Manor
Year 4 have visited Bhaktivedanta Manor, a Hindu Temple. We had a wonderful day learning more about Hinduism, dressing up, visiting the shrine and seeing the cows. This visit was based on our recent RE lessons where we explored what Hinduism is, the symbols relating to the religion and the place of worship.
Judaism- Ark Synagogue
Year 4 were very lucky to visit the Ark Synagogue in Northwood. The children were able to use their learning to help them answer questions and to understand the different talks that they received this day.
Islam- Al- Zahra Centre
Year 6 were lucky enough to go on a visit to The Al- Zahra Centre. We had a talk from the Imam where he explained the Muslim faith and described some of the different rituals that a Muslim person will complete. He also described some of the shrines that people may go to visit around the world. The children learnt a lot about Imam Husayn and his life and they completed a project on this when they returned to school.
