Through the teaching of History in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 we provide opportunities for the development of key skills: sequencing, cause and effect, reasoning, enquiry, constructing the past and chronological awareness. There are opportunities to respond to artefacts, pictures and written sources and to present the results of enquiries including written narratives. The children will learn about Ancient Civilisations to the present day as well as the history of Britain and the wider world, alongside studying significant individuals from the past. Using the link below you will find a whole school map for History.

History in Year 4
Year 4 visited the Verulamium Museum in St Albans. We enjoyed learning about the old Roman town and were even able to handle some of the artefacts. We also enjoyed walking around the park and looking at the Hypocaust.

History in Year 6
In the Autumn term Year 6 went on a school trip to Bletchley Park. Whilst we were there we had a guided tour where we learnt more about what the day to day activities would have been for the people who were working there. We also took part in a code breaking activity where we had to find out where the lost enigma machine was. The children thoroughly enjoyed their day at Bletchley.
