Our Mission Statement, ‘We Grow and Learn with Jesus’ is at the heart of everything we do here at St. Anthony’s, and this is especially relevant for our youngest learners who are just beginning their learning journey with us. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum, named so as this is the spring board from which children then build upon throughout their time at school. Our aim for our youngest children is to allow them to be curious, creative, independent and resilient learners, who show respect for themselves, others and the world which God created for us. If we achieve this, we believe our children will have the strong foundations needed to shape their future learning.
Our curriculum is carefully planned to ensure that every child’s learning experience is exciting and enjoyable and wherever possible, learning will be linked to the interests of the children as well as providing insights and experiences of the wider world around them. Our teaching and learning approach aims to develop children’s communication skills, ensuring that they know how to appropriately express themselves, share their opinion and feel heard.
We recognise the importance of not only building a strong foundation of learning, but also strong foundations of positive relationships between the child, their family and the school. Through this, we aim to ensure that pupils feel valued as an individual created by God, are empowered to meet their own needs and enjoy their learning experience.
