Fundraising

At St Anthony’s we understand the calling to live our lives in the same way that Jesus did. We know that we can do this by being committed to helping those who are in need. We understand that it is our responsibility to show support to others and solidarity together. We know that Jesus taught us to love each other as he showed us to love and to help those who need us, everyone in the Saint Anthony’s school community work together to live our lives in this way.

In our quest to help those who are less fortunate than us each year group has a charity that we plan a whole school fundraising day for. These charities are local, national and international charities that we help. As well as this we always ensure to help those around the world that have been affected by natural disasters such as the Earthquake in Syria and Turkey.

Below you will find out more about our School Fundraising.

CAFOD

On 17th October Jeff from CAFOD came to visit our school to talk to us about the work of CAFOD and their latest project called Brighten Up! Following the assemblies Year 6 organised a mufti day where everyone in the school could wear their own clothes for a donation. As a school we raised over £530.

Project Ala

Thank you to our Year 4 classes for organising the Project Ala Day. It was great to see such a variety of
animal costumes arriving in school! Donations have totalled £368.47. Cassiobury Farm Conservation Project are delighted and will ensure this money makes a huge difference to work taking place in Madagascar forest areas.

Catholic Children’s Society

Many thanks for all the donations to our charity day, we raised £324.10 for the Catholic Children’s Society. It was lovely to see all the children wearing Easter colours. The Easter hats and gardens were wonderful. We really enjoyed looking at them all – we have some very talented children.

Watford Peace Hospice

A huge thank you to all our EYFS and Key Stage One families for their generosity towards the Watford
Peace Hospice Care Sponsored Walk last week. Our final total is an incredible £2947.86. A representative
from the hospice will be presented with a cheque in an assembly after Easter.

Red Cross Earthquake Appeal

We were incredibly grateful to our generous school community for the donations made at the end of last
half term during our Mufti Day. Over £1500 was sent to the Red Cross. Thank you so much.

Raise a Smile appeal

After the Christmas Jumper Day organised by our Year 3 classes we were able to donate £339.57
towards the Watford General Hospital ‘Raise a Smile’ appeal. This is very close to our hearts as we know
so many of our parents work incredibly hard for the local hospital. ‘Raise a Smile’ funding enabled their
team to purchase many gifts for the in-patients to open on Christmas Day.

Royal British Legion

Many thanks to all the families who purchased poppies and poppy related stationery from our Year 6
volunteer helpers. We raised £297.99 for the Royal British Legion.

Watford Food Bank

In Early Years the children have baked some lovely cakes and biscuits to sell at the end of the day. The money that the children raised has been donated to Watford Food bank. So far the children have raised £307.87.

As a school we have been holding collections where families can donate some food to the foodbank. We have then delivered it to Watford Food bank. Thank you to all of our families for being so generous.
