Social Justice

‘To all people of good will who are working for social justice: never tire of working for a more just world, marked by greater solidarity’ Pope Francis

Social justice is the idea of distributing wealth, opportunities and privileges within a society. At St Anthony’s it is imperative in all that we do to create equal opportunities for all of our pupils and encourage them to do this within their own communities.

Pope Francis has reminded us that we should respond to the call of our brothers and sisters in need, no matter who they are or where they come from. At St Anthony’s we take on this challenge to act as neighbours to all that are in need around the world.

‘It is important to give back to the school community and be a role model to others’ Pupil Voice.

Collecting for the Foodbank

As a school we have had regular collections for the foodbank. These have continued throughout the year. We are committing to providing food to vulnerable people or families throughout our local community.

‘Charity, patience and tenderness are very beautiful gifts. If you have them, you want to share them with others’ Pope Francis

Reception Baking

Reception and Nursery children were baking tasty treats to sell at the end of the school day. All money raised has been donated to the Watford Foodbank.

Earthquake Appeal

After the devastating earthquakes that hit Turkey and Syria in February 2023, St Anthony’s jumped straight into action and held a mufti day to raise money for the Red Cross. As a school we raised over £1500 to help to buy life saving resources that these people so desperately needed at this time.
